The California University of Pennsylvania football program will feature five former players at NFL training camps this summer.

Paul Butler, Tight End, Oakland Raiders, #84
Butler signed a free agent contract with the Raiders in May after participating in
the team's rookie minicamp. He most recently played in the Spring League after being
invited to rookie minicamp with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2017. Butler appeared in
32 games for the Vulcans from 2013-16 and earned All-PSAC West First-Team honors as
a senior. Oakland will hold its training camp in Napa, California. Rookies report
uly 23 and veterans on July 26.
CJ Goodwin, Cornerback, San Francisco 49ers, #14
Goodwin was claimed off waivers by the 49ers in May. He spent the majority of the
2017 season with the Atlanta Falcons before being claimed off waivers in December
by the Arizona Cardinals. Goodwin signed a one-year exclusive rights contract with
the Cardinals in April before being waived in May and was then claimed by the New
York Giants, who subsequently waived him two weeks later. Goodwin appeared in 11 games
with the Vulcans during the 2013 season after previously playing at Fairmont State.
San Francisco will hold its training camp in Santa Clara, Calif., with rookies and
veterans both reporting on July 25.
Erik Harris, Safety, Oakland Raiders, #25
Harris enters his second season with the Raiders after contributing primarily on
special teams in 2017. He appeared in 52 games, including 37 starts, for the Vulcans
from 2008-11 and received All-PSAC West honors as both a junior and senior. Oakland
will hold its training camp in Napa, Calif., with rookies reporting on July 23 and
veterans on July 26.
Eric Kush, Guard, Chicago Bears, #64
Kush enters his third season with the Bears after missing all of last season due
a torn hamstring suffered in August. He appeared in 49 games with the Vulcans from
2008-12 and was a D2Football.com All-American as a senior. Chicago will hold its training
camp in Bourbonnais, Ill., with rookies reporting on July 16 and veterans on July
19.
Rontez Miles, Safety, New York Jets, #45
Miles enters his sixth season with the Jets after seeing time as a reserve and on
special teams in 2017. However, he is expected to miss all of training camp and part
of the regular season after suffering a torn meniscus. Miles appeared in 50 games
for the Vulcans from 2009-12 and was a consensus All-American as a senior while repeating
as the PSAC West Defensive Player of the Year. The Jets will hold their training camp
in Florham Park, N.J., with rookies reporting on July 24 and veterans on July 26.
