Military and Veteran Financial Aid

PennWest California has been a long-term provider of military-friendly education and support services, including scholarships and financial aid.

Veterans and active service members are encouraged to contact the PennWest California Financial Aid Office for help in finding grants, loans, scholarships and work-study jobs to make college more affordable. We work with each student to develop a personalized financial aid package.

Military Tuition Discount Program

PennWest California provides discounted tuition costs for active-duty members and veterans of all U.S. military branches, as well as their spouses and eligible dependents, when they enroll in PennWest California Global Online programs.

  • Undergraduates seeking an associate or bachelor's degree through Global Online will pay a reduced rate of $250 per credit. This is a savings of more than $100 per credit for out-of-state residents.
  • Master's degree students pay $399 per credit, or 90% of the in-state rate, no matter where they reside. This is a savings of more than $300 per credit for out-of-state residents.

The military discount program applies only to those enrolled in Global Online programs at PennWest California.  This does not apply to students who take one online course as part of a campus program. For more information, contact Global Online at calugo@calu.edu .

If you are in a degree program at a college or university, or a certificate or diploma program at a business, technical, or vocational school, you will not receive payment until you have verified your attendance. Your enrollment can be verified starting on the last calendar day of the month by using our Automated Verification of Enrollment (WAVE) at https://www.gibill.va.gov/wave or by calling our toll free Interactive Voice Response (IVR) telephone line at 1-877-823-2378.

NOTE: The WAVE and IVR systems do not update account information instantly. Instead, verifications and other submissions are stored and processed manually. Due to system procedures, it may take 2-3 workdays for the WAVE and IVR systems to reflect updates to your account. Thank you for your patience.
