Honors Advisory Boards

Student Advisory Board

An advisory board of PennWest California honors students, the Student Honors Advisory Board (SHAB) is elected annually to advise the director and associate director, participate in the faculty Honors Advisory Board, and provide programming and events for honors students. The SHAB also hosts game and movie nights, ice cream socials, and organizes local excursions. Members also assist with the organization of the Intersections Undergraduate Research Conference and preparation of honors students for conference presentation.

Faculty Advisory Board

An advisory board of PennWest California faculty helps to guide the University Honors Program. The board's primary function is to advise the director on developing the program and assisting honors students with their educational plans. The board also presents awards to outstanding seniors each year.

The director appoints board members based on support for the program, participation in Honors Program activities, achievement in Honors program coursework and thesis projects.
