You’re invited to a Great North American Eclipse viewing party at the PennWest California campus, organized by Student Government Association.

The fun will begin at 1:30 p.m. April 8 in front of Natali Student Center. Please be sure to stop there to pick up free eclipse glasses. These glasses are certified to be safe to view the eclipse. Remember that viewing the eclipse without appropriate glasses can damage your eyes.

 Visit https://www.pennwest.edu/eclipse for more information on university events. Visit https://science.nasa.gov/eclipses/future-eclipses/eclipse-2024/ for other details about the Great North American Eclipse. The California campus will experience 95.9% coverage during the event. Eclipse times:

• 2:02 p.m. – Partial Begins
• 3:16 p.m. – Totality Begins
• 3:18 p.m. – Maximum Totality
• 3:20 p.m. – Totality Ends
• 4:30 p.m. – Partial Ends

 

These California campus locations will provide the best unobstructed view of the sky:

• Guesman Hall lawn
• Natali Student Center turf (outside the second level)
• Lawn in front of Carter Hall
