All human beings are born FREE & EQUAL in dignity and rights

-Article 1, Universal Declaration of Human Rights

December 10 commemorates Human Rights Day- a ‘Universal Declaration’ of the United Nations. This international covenant sets the standards of fundamental civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights inherent to all human beings. It commands every individual to promote respect and dignity to all humans and to stand up and fight against mistreatment of all kinds.

“Our hopes for a more just, safe, and peaceful world can only be achieved when there is universal respect for the inherent dignity and equal rights of all members of the human family.” – UN Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka
