New Student Orientation Graduate Assistant
Summer 2023
The Office of Student Development is seeking a graduate assistant (GA) to assist with New Student Orientation (NSO) event preparation and execution. NSO is a large-scale program for new first-year or transfer students and their families/guests.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Attend all trainings, meetings, and events, unless excused by the supervisor.
-Complete special projects, as assigned. Projects may include reviewing and preparing documents and presentations, packaging materials, assisting with event planning, and analyzing survey data.
-Assist professional staff with event preparations and provide day-of support.
-Collaborate with office work-study on assigned duties and projects.
-Represent the University in a positive and appropriate manner.

DESIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
-Strong interpersonal and customer services skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within the office, on campus, and community-at-large.
-Registered for 9 credit hours to work 300 hours over summer
-Preferred 3.0 cumulative GPA
-Ability to work NSO dates: June 9, June 22, June 24, July 7, July 20, August 5
-Leadership experience and capabilities
-Knowledge of student challenges, campus programs, and university resources
