PEER MENTOR COORDINATORS NEEDED – CALIFORNIA CAMPUS 

 

A Peer Mentor Coordinator (PMC) helps to support and facilitate peer mentoring relationships. Each PMC oversees several mentoring relationships, provides awareness to professional staff of at-risk students, and makes referrals to campus resources. PMCs are also responsible for planning, promoting, and executing events for mentor program participants. Additionally, PMCs will assist staff in the Office of Student Outreach and Success with other tasks as assigned. 

 

Peer Mentor Coordinators:

·         Helps students recognize individual goals or needs and their mentor assists them toward attaining those goals.

·         Provides students with self-reflection, problem-solving, and communication skills that employers want to see.

·         Encourages clear and anxiety-free interaction peer-to-peer.

·         Offers students with resources for success as well as other campus resources.

·         Fits the student’s individual needs and is intended to help the protégé and mentor grow.

 

Requirements to apply:

• Must be a current trained peer mentor (If you are not already trained, we will train you.)

• Must have a 3.0 GPA and be in good academic and disciplinary standing

• Must have 30 credits by the end of the Fall 2022 semester

• Must qualify for work-study through the Financial Aid Office (We can check this if you do not know.)
