Human Trafficking 101: Awareness and Education

Wednesday, Sept. 28

Convocation Center South Wing

4-6pm

Did you know Human Trafficking is the fastest growing crime in the US and the world.  It is second only to drug trafficking but expected to pass it up shortly. It is $150 billion a year criminal enterprise, $100 billion is from the sex slave industry. There is more slavery in our world today than ever before. Human Trafficking is modern day Slavery. Human Trafficking is organized criminal activity in which human beings are treated as possessions to be controlled and exploited, such as being coerced into prostitution or forced labor.

Join us for an informative presentation on Human Trafficking by The Asservo Project, a Pittsburgh-based non-profit organization focused on ending Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation. Learn to identify signs of someone being trafficked or exploited and find out about the resources and services available to help victims. Light refreshments will be served.

Education is the first step in combatting this epidemic.
