Nominations are being accepted for the 2022 Presidential Distinguished Merit Awards.  Tenured faculty members who have demonstrated excellence in teaching, research (scholarship), or service, are eligible to receive one of these prestigious awards, which are presented as part of Spring graduation activities.

Any member of the Cal U community — students, faculty, staff or alumni — may nominate a faculty member. Self-nominations are permitted.

Nominations close at 4 p.m. on Oct. 22, 2021.

Although a faculty member may be nominated in multiple categories, he or she can only compete for one award.  The nominee may select the category.  For example, if a person is nominated for the teaching and service categories, he or she may submit support materials for one or the
other, but not both.

Support materials from the nominees are due by 4 p.m. Nov. 15, 2021.

The 2021 Presidential Distinguished Merit award winners were Dr. Daniel Harris (Teaching), Dr. Kimberly Woznack (service), and Dr. Todd Pinkham (Scholarship).

Presidential Distinguished awards are separate from those given by the Faculty Professional Development Committee, which recognizes recipients at Commencement.

Nominations will be accepted via e-mail. Please submit e-mail nominations to the Presidential Distinguished Merit Awards Committee Chair, Dr. Kyle Fredrick, at
fredrick@calu.edu

Each nomination must include the name of the nominee, category of nomination [teaching, research (scholarship), or service], and the name of the nominator.
