Description:  We are currently living in a pivotal time for civil rights in America.  Americans seem to be waking up to what the black community has been saying for decades:  That the lives of people of color continue to be diminished, and even threatened, by racism.  COVID-19 death rates are higher among blacks and Hispanic/Latino people than among whites.  Police brutality of blacks is becoming increasingly apparent with the prevalence of cell phone and police cam video.  How are these topics affecting you?  What needs to happen to address racial inequality in the country, in your community, at Cal U?  How can students support each other during these turbulent times?  How can we keep up the momentum of Black Lives Matter until real results are realized?

Please join us as we discuss these issues in a non-threatening manner using the “Listening Circle” format.  Each student will have a chance to speak (or can pass), but we do require that students are respectful of each other.
