The Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences is looking for a Graduate Assistant for the Spring 2020 Semester to support the undergraduate General Zoology course.
Responsibilities:
- Hold open lab hours for course students
- Actively tutor students in course content
- Prepare materials, equipment, and work area for zoology lab sessions
- Coordinate the use of the lab resources and facilities with course faculty
- Maintain the orderliness and cleanliness of the lab
- Maintain an inventory of lab equipment and supplies
Qualifications:
The successful applicant must be:
- Trained in (or currently studying) either the biological sciences or field of education
- Willing to learn new course content
- Organized, responsible and capable of working independently
- Outgoing, creative and interested in helping students succeed in the course
- Able to effectively communicate in speech and written formats
- Able to use a personal computer and relevant software (word, excel, D2L, etc.)
- Able to work in a lab environment
Schedule:
- 20 hour/week (300 hours/semester), specific dates and times are negotiable at the time of hire but must include some evening and weekend hours
