Sharon B. Juli

Ms. Juli is an expert in gerontology. She coordinated the department's efforts to enrich the curriculum with aging content across the bachelor of social work and master of social work programs. She is the first recipient of Cal U's Distinguished Gerontology Alumna Award, which was presented in 2009. She is a licensed social worker and has practiced for 20 years with a focus on serving older adults. She has worked as regional coordinator for Presbyterian Senior Care in its supportive housing network. Most recently, she has coordinated outreach projects for the southwest Pennsylvania region aimed toward people impacted by both the Hurricane Ivan flooding and Hurricane Katrina survivors migrating to western Pennsylvania. She is an active member with the NASW-PA and is a member of the disaster preparation group. In addition, Ms. Juli is a member of the Allegheny County Critical Incident Stress Management Team.
