Dr. Mariana Pensa completed her undergraduate degree at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, in Argentina; her native country. She completed a Masters in Spanish and a Ph D in Comparative Literary Studies at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. Dr. Pensa's main research interest is Latin American theater (with a specialization in Argentinean theater),with a second research interest on Argentinean and world cinema. She has presented many papers at conferences in Argentina, Canada, and The United States and has published research papers and book reviews in academic peer review journals. She has also published articles in research volumes such as Rondas de Pittsburgh 2006-2007. She has been an Assistant Professor of Spanish at Ca U since Fall 2004, and teaches Spn 101, 102, and also Spn 300 and 400 level courses. She has taught online and long-distance courses. Dr. Pensa is the chairperson of Modern Language Day, and works actively in departmental and university-wide committees.
She writes reviews for the academic magazine Crítica Hispánica.
