April Wright returned to her alma mater to join the Communication Disorders Department in the Fall of 2018. April has spent the past Nine and a half years working as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Sub-Acute, Acute and Skilled Rehabilitation. Additionally, she has experience working in Outpatient Clinics and Home Healthcare. April has worked primarily with the Geriatric and Adult Neurogenic population; serving those with communication, voice and swallowing disorders. Her primary focus prior to joining Cal U was in the treatment of individuals suffering from Parkinson’s Disease. April has been a clinical instructor/field supervisor for the past six years for several universities. She joins the faculty to assist in Supervision of the on-campus Speech and Hearing Clinic, and clinical liaison for students completing their clinical externships.

Having spent her career “hands on” she affords her students the same experiences. Assisting them as they complete Speech and Language Diagnostic Evaluations and Clinical Treatment Sessions.
