Why Golf Performance Training?
To help golfers avoid injury while improving their game.
About 24 million Americans play golf, one of the world’s most popular sports. PennWest California’s advanced golf performance training program is designed for golf industry professionals and human movement specialists who want to work with golfers of all ages and abilities.
This 100% online golf training program – a concentration within PennWest California’s M.S. in Exercise Science and Health Promotion – is designed for fitness and golf professionals, athletic trainers, sport performance experts and other human movement specialists.
Students learn key aspects of human movement science as it relates to golf swing mechanics, fitness, and conditioning techniques specific to the game. Program graduates can use their skills to consult, train and create safe, effective strength and conditioning programs for men and women who play golf at the highest level, and to extend playing years for older golfers.
Earn nationally recognized certifications.
PennWest California is the first university to partner with Technogym to offer a master’s degree-level, sport specific training program. Technogym has

equipment supplier for the PGA Tour. Golf performance training students at PennWest
California have the opportunity to sit for the Technogym Golf Performance Program
Certification while completing their degree.
PennWest California is also a longtime partner with NASM, the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Students in the golf training master’s degree program have the opportunity to earn the NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist Certification while earning their degree.
Students can complete the 36-credit master’s degree program in advanced golf training in 12 months of full-time study, or 18 months on a part-time schedule. The program begins with the Winter 2020 term.
